I don't mind the delay either as it is less pain on the credit card at this time of year, plus the later it is the longer it will extend my MC status!
If it gets delayed until end of march then I'll blow my year end bonus on paying off my credit card!

I also don't mind some delay, but not because of the credit card bill, but because the sale of these coins are final, so I don't mind seeing what quality of coins others are getting first, and if they are really bad (which I hope not) I still have the option to cancel my order as long as it is not shipped.

@shopaholic, very interesting insight! Are we able to cancel prior to shipping?

I did call the Mint and cancelled my order of 1914 10$ about a week ago, and then placed another one (online) to add the free book. So I think cancelling is possible before shipping. But there is always the chance that the Mint could have shipped the coins without updating the order status online, and if that is the case then nothing can be done.

I don't know much about grade and I just hope the coin would look nice to my untrained eyes. Those that the Mint showed in the promo pictures are nice enough to me. :)

BTW did anyone got any shipping confirmation? No credit has been held on my CC yet.

[Added] I must added that I wouldn't use the possibility of cancelling the order to gambling on the quality of the coin. Don't buy it unless you want it.

I spoke to the rep this morning t the call center, and nothing has been sent out. She told me that they expect sometime this month. We'll see.

Canceling or making modifications to orders are fine as nothing has been officially processed or shipped.

To: Coinsplus & shopaholic, thank you for info. I do want a gold coin, as it will be my first gold. Just contemplating if I should upgrade to the premium select.

Mine has not shipped yet.

Again.... the disappointments begin.

How can the RCM be so off yet again. Is it the union? Unexpected flu, the government, what?

They have the coins in hand - don't they?

I have not received any notice yet, but $149.95 is deducted from my credit card yesterday. I hope it is not only "holding funds" this time.

I spoke with the RCM yesterday and apparently the release date for the Hand Selected 1912-1914 gold coins has been pushed back to the end of January to match the planned release date of the Premiums.

Canadian_coins: They do have the coins, but recently they have had numerous problems with quality control over the boxes (especially the wooden boxes) which is why there were some delays on the Go7 subscriptions, the 5 penny sets, and I predict there will be more problems with these gold coins as well!

Has anyone heard anything further about how the mint personnel are selecting the coins? Do you think they would attempt to clean or burnish them to enhance their appearance? Surely they must know not to do this? They can't be working in a numismatic vacuum, could they?

I would gladly accept a better coin over a defective box.

Really? Iit is no surprise the shipping date is later than previously stated. The RCM does this every time. Everyone keeps complaining but also keep ordering. I'm getting all my coins elsewhere until all my orders ship.
