If authentic, I'm leaning at AG. Reverse rim too worn for G4 IMO. Who authenticated it?

A local coin dealer, I cannot currently find the guild/site that had his certification. One second.

I was also wondering, he said that all 1916-D Mercury dimes have a rotation from obverse to reverse. Is this true?

Most coins from that era always have a slight rotation, so its not uncommon.
PCGS, NGC or ANACS will be your choices to send it in for authentication. Without better/clearer/sharper images, it will be hard for anyone to be sure either.

I remember reading an article that, if I can recall correctly, said all came with rotated dies and each die pair usually comes rotated in a specific way. I have to see if I can find that article again. Assuming the coin is authentic and there are no problems that the photos are not showing, I am fairly confident the coin will grade AG-3. Too much wear on the reverse to grade G. I would get it graded by any one of the TPG's that macmercury has listed. It looks like you may have quite the find there!

I'm also considering slabbing a few of my other coins: 1921 Peace dollar VF details- cleaned (purchased at a flea market for $30) 1921 -P and D Mercury dimes, D may have been cleaned (Good)and P (Fine) Possibly also a 1921-S Morgan AU or higher grade, brown toning Should I slab these coins? (Probably going to use anacs so I don't have to buy a subscription)

Great find! Don't spend any money slabbing the other coins though. Just get the 1916 dime to a major grading service. It is the only one worth the cost.

To get a 1916-d dime for 3 bucks, well that would be fantastic. I hope it's real for you. Will grade AG IMO and valued at $450-$500 give or take.
