1878 3CN Counterfeit/Fake - Sold For $65!

I put in $4 because I wanted to start working on my "fake knowledge" and maybe share with Steve Caruso. But I was shocked that it went for $65. The pictures are not great so you may not see that there are no lines in the III. I double checked the patterns for that year and there were no 3CN patterns. Here is the title of the listing: 1878 Three Cent PIECE (NICKEL) PROOF PROBABLE FAKE Did I miss an awesome steal or did the bidding just get carried away? Report this Post to the Staff

The design looks very close to me when looking at the small pictures though. If it doesn't have the lines in the roman numerals then that would be a design I don't remember seeing so I am guessing the seller was correct but as I said I know next to nothing about this series and very well could be wrong Report this Post to the Staff
