I'm pretty sure that if it is a planchet error, it's no big deal but I thought it was interesting enough to share with you guys. I don't think it's PMD. I don't think this could have been created by PMD without distorting the coin. Defective planchet? Lots of close-ups. Thank you for your help and opinions.

In your 5th picture of the edge, the reeds looks like they are shifted out of alignment a little, and the obverse at that location does look flattened a little. I think its just PMD, sorry.

Damaged coin , someone hit it with a center punch.

I saw that too but I would have thought that if something struck it hard enough, that close to the edge, why didn't the reeded portion flare outward from the displaced metal? The coin is not out of round. In my gut I think you're probably right. I just like to play devils advocate.

A center punch wouldn't leave a raised nipple in the center of the hole and the area in the base of the hole has a slag like appearance.

mds308:For some reason I thought it was indented. As for the "reeded portion" it was displaced toward the obverse as seen it photo #5.
