I picked up these 5 today from my LCS along with a few cool old British pennies. (Sorry no pics of the pennies) I got them for a bit cheaper than marked on the cards.   |

Nope it is an 89, and I paid $5 over spot for them.

If I were you I'd pay $2 or so over, no more.

I wish I could find older ASE's for $2 over spot. The best I've found traveling around so far was a coin shop in Tacoma, WA that had them for $3 over spot and they were kinda rough. |

I view them as nothing more than bullion, so I'm not willing to pay much over spot. By the way, I live about 30-45 minutes from Tacoma.

I'm supposed to be going back in a couple weeks, any thoughts on LCS's up there with better prices on ASE's? Like I said I'd gladly load up on them at spot+$2. |

Unfortunately, I don't have any suggestions as there aren't may LCSs out here.

The local pawn shop has half dollars (Kennedys and a few Walking Libertys) for $7 a pop. Is now the time to pull the trigger and start my collection?

See if you can get 10 or 11x face. However, if you're looking to start a collection, you can try an LCS (local coin shop), and you can get lots of help here.  |
