if you're talking from a mint set, I took scissors and cut between the coins and you can separate the front and back.

if you're talking from a proof set, someone should be along with directions.

I believe you can actually pop the proof sets open now since I think theyre snapped shut. I've also heard of using a knife where they come together to separate it

for proof sets I use a knife around the edges. It just barely needs help getting open. Then you can usually snap the two pieces apart pretty easily.

I just got my 65 sms and I want to take out the cent for my dansco album but I really dont wanna ruin the set hmmm

Considering the 1965 SMS had all the coins in a single pliofilm package I don't think your going to get that cent out without destroying the packaging.

I've used an exacto knife to pry apart the edges of proof sets. Scissors are just fine for today's mint sets. And hey, what was wrong with cello anyway?

there isn't even a slot for sms cents in Dansco's are there? I put mine in the back of the book and made my own labels.

Not for the cents, but there are SMS holes in the Kennedy half dollar album (8166).
