Normally, I don't post on stuff like this, but I am here scratching my heading wondering what exactly the "Xmas sale" actually is? http://www.ebay.com/itm/271100704331Coin is damaged. Coin is cleaned. Coin is listed at full trends price (bear in mind that 'trends' price usually refers to a problem-free coin). How is this possibly a "sale"? The fact you don't have to pay taxes or a hammer fee? Dan's wise words echos in my mind... http://victorialargecents.blogspot.ca/I hate having problem coins in my inventory, and I am lucky to sell them at 30% of Trends prices. I'd be stunned if he gets 30%. Those marks are awful. I'd take a no defect VF over it.

This coin looks like a Kenworth truck backed over it! Not worth even a grand in my books! Old saying goes "when you buy a problem coin, you are investing in a tangible problem"

SPP, that is a good example of what I am talking about! Although the price of the coin is well out of my league to start with so it wouldn't be up for consideration for me, I am at a loss of why this is not deeply discounted to reflect the double problem indicated not just on the label but when you look at the coin itself. Sigh.....

If he takes it out of the holder and leaves it in open air for 2 years it would just be damaged, no one would know it's cleaned.

Keep in mind he's listed the full trend price of the coin in an auction where you can "make an offer". I don't think he expects an offer over 40% trends for this coin? Knowing the seller, he probably didn't buy it for much to begin with. I don't care how RARE a coin is, it will NEVER be a part of my Collection if it has "any" problems. A chain is only as good as it's weakest link! Glenn

He has it for offer, I guess it's worth whatever the last bid is. I agree, I would like to have one but would have a hard time parting with more than 1000. Thats about where I would be on this as well. It's tragic

Book value- $22,500 Isn't he always about to publish a catalogue of Canadian varieties? Maybe the price is from his own catalogue-to-be,and the price for an unmolested example would include your first-born. I kind of miss his discussion on this forum.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning... -from PCGS website

ICG, they are a U.S. TPG. Reasonably respected for US coins, similar to ANACS. Generally not considered top tier on Canadian material. They along with ANACS, NGC and PCGS are the TPG's that ebay accepts the grades from on their US site, the other TPG's are considered as Raw Coins.
