Hi everyone,

Just going through my change and found these two coins.
The 2006 $2 coin looks to have a raised lip around the elizabeth II and the 2005 $2 coin had a larger rim than others I compared it to

$2-2005-&-2006-Error-Coins

Are these worth anything?

Might have to keep my eye out for more after reading how many error coins there seem to be.

Thanks

to CCF!

Can you take a picture of the edge of the coin?

Theres a possibility they are partial collars but unless the edge can be seen we wont be able to tell that.

The other, much more likely possibility is they are just a little off centre. This is quite common on $1 and $2 coins and isn't worth much of a premium if any. Occasionally they go alright on ebay (maybe up to $5) but its doubtful. If this is the case then if you collect coins and dont have this type of error then you might want to keep one, otherwise back into the pond.

I didnt notice that one FNQ! Good spotting. I reckon that would be worth $10-20 because its a pretty decent size.

Hi wood88, to CCF!

The 2005 coin is very marginally off centre, only worth face, but as mentioned the 2006 has a nice large Rim Cud from approx 7-9k, so it's a definite keeper. I have 3 like that.

You can see some other Rim Cuds here:

Thanks everyone for your help.
I tried taking photos on a side angle but they didn't turn out very well.

But yes it looks like 1 is a rim Cud for the link Nancy provided and I'll take everyone's word that the 2005 one is just off centred and put it back in my change.

Thanks again for all your help, will hopefully be able to find dome more to question you all about :-)
