And just like with the rest of his coins, there was a time when this coin was the grade he lists

suspect in the early days it was one or two people who handled the listings & photos. now with 10,000 sales a month (20,000? listings?) there is no way one person is handling everything. I could see them using stock photos rather than the actual coins, and descriptions getting "muddy" as it is no longer a single educated coin collector doing the work. (i AGREE 100% with the other posters that +5 or +6 grades isn't "muddy", it's more like a black hole).
it is even highly possible that software is handling 99% of the listings and MS65 is the default in the database (to go along with a stock photos). I've seen some pretty slick script that allows someone to
ebay using a drop shipper. you can list 10000 products and never see the product, handle the product, talk to a customer or even worry about payment. just sit back and collect a tiny % for every item that sells. it wouldn't be terribly diffcult to apply that method of listing to generic coins (99% of asyn's 'drive thru' business)

I've heard that if you return something to him, he blocks you from future bidding?
I've returned stuff to them before without issue. I emailed first, was polite, and waited for an "OK". if soneone is getting blocked it is possible it is (a) extended staff members now in charge of returns / change in policy (just like the listings) , (b) buyers having a hissy fit over their 99 cent purchase, or even (c) automated software blocking buyers after the refund is issued.
