Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I'll give it a try. Being fairly new to coins, and being a dealer, I am thinking of selling online. I have found a site which offers free selling and I wonder if it is ok. Is it alright to put the site's name on this forum and ask other members if they have any knowledge of it?

Go ahead and drop the link here in the thread. As I read this, you're just asking for site evaluation at this point and not promoting your own sales; we're cool with that. Be aware, though, we have a "bad guy" list of websites which have spammed us or done other offensive things in the past, and if your link is one of them it will automatically redact. Of course, that might be a hint.

Not being familiar with places over there I really couldn't say good or bad. However, a fast look at the web site I noticed free. I always like free anything. If you think about it, you could try a few lower valued coins to see what happens. Then if OK, let us all know so many others could get in on that one. Sometimes a place is great and sometimes a real mess but usually the only way is to try. I'm always leary of when people say a place is great via the internet since you really, really don't know who is saying that. For example when it is asked about good dealers or coin stores a place always pops up as great. Yet I know from personal experiences the place is a real rip off. So just who do you believe? Like I said, try it with a few lesser valued coins. If it works out, keep us all informed.

They appear to be a consignor, as opposed to an Ebay-type auction site or a place where you'd have your own personal selling space. So, the terms of your association would be important - up to you to find your comfort zone. The only potential drawback - should their terms be acceptable to you - is how much actual traffic they get. Are there enough visitors, do they do enough volume, to serve you well as a seller?

Well, I'm going to take a look at the site today or tomorrow, and when I have a view on what they are like, I'll post on here, and hopefully it will be of use to others.
