Great find mate. Didnt take you long.

You seem to have quite a lot of double bar varieties listed. The only years which exhibited the variety are 1966 (faint), 1979 and 1980. I also remember hearing reports of 1993 and 1996 although I've never seen one.

I found a post by nancy https://goccf.com/t/98823

It showed multiple varieties for double bars. I found some more like the 1972 and the 1999

There is a picture of a 1993 there with faint double bars.

I would love to see pictures of those you found from other years. I've never seen them in the flesh or in photographs so it would be a great to get a topic to confirm them all.

Hi flippy, and fo CCF!

Congrats on the Incuse. You did really well to find one so quickly.

I see you've found some DB's that haven't been reported before. I've updated my list so that it's more current than the old one you found here.

Have you seen all my Aussie error topics? There are a lot of them. Some with pictures, some like the Rim Cuds are just lists.

life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved

I use a free programme called Photoscape which I downloaded from CNET. Thia allows side by side or even picture in picture editing. Takes a while to master but fun to learn.! (see some of Nancy's excellent offerings.!)

It may seem like a short time to have found an incuse but I have been noodling for about 6 months from the bank and 3 years from change before I signed up.

I would also love to take some pictures of the double bars but I don't have something that accurate. I am trying to borrow a microscope with a camera tonight.

kel to take the front and back of a coin take them both individually and then put them side by side on word, preview, paintbrush or fireworks and take a screen shot of the two images.

Kel

I use jpegjoiner which is a free version. It's limited to creating a final image of 5000x5000 pixels which is fine for here and ebay etc as both need to be smaller than that.
It's good in as much as it allows you to define how you want them joined ..... ie: 3 images across, 2 images down etc. They do have a larger image joiner (ie: result greater than 5000x5000) but it's not a freebie.

Here's a link:

It's about 2/3 down the list.

Nice that you found an Incused so quickly - now see how long it'll take to find a 2010 rotated....!

Interested to hear about the planchet flaw in the 1976; I have noodled 2 x 1976 50 cent coins that have (almost) split-through planchets, they sound like they are made of lead!! Seems 1976 was a poor quality year for planchet rolling?

i have been looking for a rotated 2010 but no luck so far

yes 1976 must have been a bad year but nancy made a post about lamination flaws and it seems that most years before 1990 were bad years.

and great to see your "incused 50 cent" success flippy !!.
They are not easy to find .
I am looking for my third one, and have been noodling for about one and a half years.

I CHEATED! TROUT 1105 GAVE ME ONE!
I don't think I would have got one any other way!

In this case, I think the friendship more important than the coin.
