To the best of my knowledge there are no actual
"No FG" die varieties on any denomination ever designed by Mr G.
Meaning that not one die/hub was ever produced without the FG initials.
And that any missing FG is just a case of polishing or other die problems. Is this correct ?

Yes.

Since the initials are on the design model used in the reducing lathe to create the master hub the initials would be on every master die, working hub and working die. They could in theory get chipped off of a working hub, but in that case every die produced by that hub would also be missing the initials and there would be millions and millions coins without the initials. They would be vary common and not worth any premium.

Agree with Condor101 except that the 1969-D no fg has sold for pretty good money simply because it was listed in the CPG...I'm talking in the $150 range, slabbed by PCGS.

Actually the Walking Liberty half would be a no AW since Adolph Weinman designed this coin and not Frank Gasparro. But you are correct about the existence of the missing designer's initials on some Walkers.
