The recipent from Turkey SHAFT9a was mentioning was me. Yes, indeed I did not get any mail from her. She did nt receieved the little envelope I sent to her too. That was back in the 2008/2009 I believe. In the same time,
I sold a rather large item to Canada via ebay. I sent it by registered mail, the tracking number was
RR047428636TR. The recipent never receieved it. I paid him a full refund. The item standed abour two years as "at the distribution ofice bla bla in Montrea somethingl" and last time I checked, it was dropped from Post Canada tracking system. It2s just lost, and no one admits it, not the Turkish Post or the Post Canada. Weirdly enough, I have swapped, posted and receieved both registered and unregistered post from all around the World, fromthe Phillippines to Norway, from Australia to Alaska. Only Four parcels that got missing are two outgoing to Canada, one outgoing to the States and one coming from the States.
Now, the only place which a registered shipping of mine got lost is Canada.
Does that mean Post Canada is not doing its' job properly? No. I think it means only bad luck. It can happen in Turkey, in France, in Sweden, in the States, can happen anywhere.
I believe, if a parcel/letter changes hands frequently, if there is no direct flights between the home country and the destination country, then the risk gets higher. I believe every now and then there is an empolyee with bad intention, all around the World, but I believe it's 0.01 percent chance. Mostly packages arrive just safe. I've gotten more than 200 letters from
ebay buys and CCF members on the past four years.
Still, given its' political status China can be a very very high shipping risk, I would not mail there either, as well as India and several other countries. A member commented on the low wages of postal workers in the third World countries. I want to comment back by asking I wonder the Postal Workers in the Western World are amongst the highest earning social class. It's nothing to do with how much you earn, honestly and integrity,it's a trait, a character I assume and has very little to do with where you are from or how much you earn.
