American Eagles are by far one of my favorites!! A friend of mine just brought up diffences to me a couple of weeks ago (and I still had to look at US Mint website.) Proof - "W" (29.95 this yr., purchase from US Mint); Unc. - "W" (2007 not yet avail. (began in 2006, $19.95 - probably higher this year? Purchase from U.S. Mint).[It somehow escaped my attention that they began issue of unc. last year so I missed out - drat!) "AMerican Eagle Bullion" - launched 1986 - purchase from dealers, not US Mint) - but what's the difference in the bullion? Is it just lacking mint mark? 3 (of same coin) may be a bit much to buy every year - any recommendations on which to buy if someone decides they can only afford one a year?

Well, justmy2centsworth, you asked and I will tell you what I would buy if I were only to buy one coin a year. Start with the 1995-W Proof ASE, then the second year I would buy a 2006-P Reverse Proof and the third year I would get a 2006-W ASE BU!!! Now with that being said, you will have to put in a lot of work time to pick up the money necessary to purchase these beautiful coins. ASEs are really the most interesting coins to me today. Good Luck justmy2centsworth, I gave the answer above with tongue in cheek, as I could not ever afford the cost of 1995-W ASE. Do the best you can and enjoy the collecting of a wonderful set...

On a more serious note, I would try to get the 2006-P reverse proof and the 2006-W business strike while the prices are still somewhat reasonable. They will increase in value and continue to hold their value, so it is a good collector item and the side benefit of a good investment of your money as well.
