In the safe at work, I found we only had new $1 dollar bills. I noticed all of them began with 00888, and that we had all of the 008880 and 008888 bills. So I was able to get the following bills, all Gem Uncirculated, straight from the BEP: 00888008 00888080 00888088 00888800 00888808 00888880 00888888 Edited by jayhawkfan 12/17/2012 1:14 pm

Wow, crazy 8s! You know, with a green marker, one could make two more 8s and have a note really worth a lot! :P

Wowie wow wow wow! Those are not only binary, they are also octal. (Years ago I used to manually convert binary to octal for 8 hours a day.) They are also rotator or SWMS notes. And one of the is also a bookend note. I think 8 is considered a very lucky number for Asians. Pretty amazing find!

I'd put them back in the safe and let them simmer another 10 years!

Nice find...and one best set of fancy sn's posted here in a while. IF you are here long enough and decide to sell any I would be interested in 0088 8800 and 0088 8888 for fancy sn sets I am working on. BTW, I would have saved the strap 0088 8801 to 0088 8900....as it would have had quad doubles aka four pairs 0088 8811 etc and some other notes from the other straps as well like 0088 8777 etc. There is not much premium on the other notes but it would have been nice to keep them together.
