I was very happy in my purchases. The pricing was fair, shipped fast and both were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the items. I was very pleased and hope to use them again to hunt down some hard to find pieces.
.... and what I bought and looked for was exactly what was represented on their respective for sale items! :)

I buy a lot of my coins from ebay sellers and have always been pleased with the transactions. I probably wouldn't buy anything very expensive or rare sight unseen, but it's been great so far with me.

I prefer to sell uncirculated coins to people looking for really nice coins to add to their collections. I have bought collections of uncirculated, proof like, and proof sets both on ebay and locally to cut out the coins I want to keep. With patience ebay has great opportunities to acquire the coin you need. Uncirculated in 2x2 coins always sell. The nicest shipping packaging I've ever received was from a seller using thank you cards to mail coins.

I've purchased a number of coins from ebay and have been pretty happy with the transactions. I tend to ask questions, so I know what to expect before I bid.

ebay wouldn't still be around if the majority of dealings were bad. Of course like anything else, there are some really bad experiences with ebay dealings. Usually with something expensive though. For the average, within reason values, ebay is OK. I just would never trust a deal in the hundreds or more.

While ebay does have its place, people on this site tend to get too caught up in using ebay for their coin purchases (almost obsessive in some cases). I have a small, but fun and varied coin collection and I can count on one hand the number of coins that were obtained from ebay. Try branching out and I think you will find the (physical) search can be just as enjoyable as the actual coin.

I make the majority of my purchases on ebay. Mt LCS is closed by the time I get out of work and on weekends, and I typically end up paying less than I would from an online dealer. I have only been burnt once on the bay and that is out of over 300 transactions.

@ Mr Morgan - That one time you were burnt - I hope you used ebay buyer protection. The one time I was burnt ebay was wonderful, even providing the postage to return the items. They are really buyer oriented.

I won the auction and paid for it (I think it was for a proof ASE) but the seller never sent the item nor did he ever reply to any of my messages. He had a few auctions going and from the look of the feedback he did the same to them too. I did get my money back, after a couple of months. That was the last time I would ever buy from a seller with less than 500 feedback comments.

Agreed. ebay is amazing for finding hard to find coins and seeing a wide variety of inventory. LCSs are good if you have a good one in youre area that has what you luck, not all of us are that fortunate.

I am in Lower Delaware Eastern Shore. There is nothing down here for coins except 1 show a year and no dealers with storefronts. To me ebay is a blessing not only as a buyer but I recently became a seller. Got rid of over 300 rolls of Wheat cents and over 50 PCGS slabs that where not part of my collections. Made the wife happy and used the money to buy coins needed for my other collections. Am now starting to sell some military stuff I collect and the wife's book collection. As a buyer over the last 8-10 years I found only one dealer that was bad and that was a non-coin person. I do find a number of sellers who are not dealing with a full deck as you say but all are basically honest people. Bought 2 BU Jefferson's off a person and he put scotch tape directly onto the coins and onto a sheet of newsprint and mailed them that way. Other than those I would say ebay has helped our coin collecting grow and not hurt it. Just my opinions edgman

Hi every one, I'm new to this site. I have been buying off ebay for about 10 years. 100% positive feed back at 2037. I think with patience one can get some very good coin buys from the site. If I miss out or under bid I keep in mind that there will always be more. any transaction that could have went bad was made right by seller or paypal buyer protection.
