Hi, I just came over from another site (CT) which is unbelievably unprofessional, IMO.

How is this site?

Do you guys like seeing high quality photos of Bison varieties?

Thank you in advance, Chris

Hi Chris,
Welcome to the forum! I think you'll find an enlightened and friendly bunch here, for certain. I'm currently more friendly than enlightened, but I figure that will even out with time.

Personally, I love looking at photos of coins, so show us what you've got!

Regards,
~neuron

I have made this site my online forum home. While it may not yet receive the amount of traffic as some, it is growing daily. I welcome you to the fold. As far as quality pics go, please feel free.
As far as error coins go, well I will probably be your biggest critic here I do not mean that in a bad way. I just see too many little things like planchet flaws or die flaws being called errors. While they are certainly part of numismatic discussion and welcomed here, don't be surprised if I call it as I see it.
Sometimes I will call out an issue just to get others to think about what they know, and other times just to poke some fun. This hobby should be fun for all involved. A place to learn and share without petty differences getting in the way of good discussions.
There is a pretty good error section, although it doesn't get used very much. I myself am not all that involved in the error market, but have bought and sold some interesting error coins.
Post away!

I thank you for your kind words.

My main passion besides photography is error coins. I am into major mint errors. I have a type set (all one date) of different types of errors (some 40+ coins)....but I still need a few like a dated foldover strike and a 6 cent piece and of course whatever else comes along.

Now we get to the Bisons. Yes there are a lot of minor errors on the Bisons. For fun, and hopefully profit, I have decide to seek out as many of the "cool" varieties/ errors in this single issue Bison, a very popular and beautifull coin. I have purchased several D "Speared Bisons" certified and raw. I have purchased the P "Speard Bison", another very nice variety. I also bought, but have not received 2 of the Detached leg Bisons.

I have bought tens of thousands of Bisons from a variety of sources to search for varieties. I have found about 15 varieties myself. Yes these are die cracks, scratches, gouges, die fills, excessive die polishing, etc. I am only interested in the varieties with excellent "eye appeal" My 9 year old daughter has made her firstt two error finds on a Bison, very cool.

I guess what I'm trying to say is yes I will be posting some minor errors.

Thanks again for the welcome.

Rest in Peace

I love your attitude! Anyone looking at their coins will win a place in my book, but getting your child involved will earn my respect. Welcome. Please post some pics, minor or not, I love coins.

Another from Cointalk hey? (I'm Sylvester over there in case your wondering).

Errors hey?

Hmm one tip never get me started on error's because I get into terminology arguments. Much like National Dealer's examples, as you will soon realise 'flaw' is my favourite word.

But I'm harmless enough, we cater for all tastes here, even *gulp* hammered coins...

Well, being that I am a CoinWorld Ex-Forum-banned type member, I for one welcome you from the HH of CT--Unfortunately for them, apparently we here at this forum are starting to ahhh--steal, borrow, takeaway those over there with any intelligence at all for our hobby, those with salt and a tongue, instead of ahh, letting the post counters continue to abuse prives--I for 1 got tired of letting the young pups take over a site with 1 liners with absolutely no intelligence factors and they don't read or research sheet--So I for one welcome you here, and don't blame you for being here, show me sum bison errors bro and we rap bout it
BTW I am known over thar as ciscokid over thar--
