Even though this coin was produced by the Tower Mint in London, it's Continental historical significance was astronomical. Around 1990-91, I was relic hunting a small patch of property in Lightfoot Virginia (just north of Williamsburg). Aside from some other historical artifacts I found 3 Virginia Half Pennies. All three half pennnies were about 3 feet apart. I believe the site I discovered was a French Militia camp site circa 1781 due to the French Militia buttons found in this same site. I believe many of the troops were paid with these coins. Below is a link for more information on this coin.

STAY OUT of my turf! I used to cut firewood up there near an old mansion off route 605 if my memory is correct. That whole area is rich in historical artifacts. Congrats on some great finds. nlp
