I think his start price is a bit steep. Can someone with the new Maccas (mine hasn't arrived yet) see if they are in there and, if so, what value is assigned.
I am a little sceptical about the value of $25 per coin.

ok coloured reverse , No mintmark and C mintmark are $13 retail No colour is face value. He has 70 coins by $13 = $910. So really the $1000 bucks start is not bad. Sort of. Still 70 coins....

I thought the whole excercise was for the rsl to fundraise a bit, not some seller on ebay who has gotten a roll when they shouldnt have.

i sent the link and item number to the person I have been emailing in the rsl to try and find one local, not sure what she will do with the information, but I think something needs to be looked at with this coin and its release.

Although being a nice gesture and a great idea to help the RSL to gain some dearly needed financial aid, In MHO the whole idea of the RSL distributing these coins was ill conceived. The coins were badly handled and mounted on cards with glue , There is no way that an organisation such as the RSL can distribute half a million coins effectively. They should have been distributed by the mint and a commission of the sales of every coin given to the RSL. As far as someone getting hold of these and profiteering from them for their own benefit, to me is appalling. If the RSL themselves sold these coins in this manner , that would be totally acceptable to me and would be a great way for them to get rid of all those coins that they have "No idea" of how to market them and get some badly needed funds. There will always be a snake in the woodpile and this seller seems to be one of them, Shame on him

I must have misunderstood earlier threads about these $2 coins. I had thought that the circulating comemoratives would be non-coloured; and the coloured coins would be $12.95 each, and therefore NCLT But, the pic on ebay shows coloured coins in rolls - and they look to be unusual rolls at that. Any clarification would be welcome ...

The circulation ones are not coloured. I think that the coins were given to the RSL in rolls and the RSL then glued them to cards (that's my understanding anyway).

with Mr T I think the RSL received the coins in rolls and then glued them on the cards or placed them in a little bag and stapled it to the card for sale. It seems like either someone from the RSL payed $250 for each of the 2 rolls when they came in from the mint or someone from the public somehow found out and bought them. This could mean that there are more rolls out there than just these two. Does this mean can you get non coloured poppy coins in rolls or just bags?

The RSL would have had to fork out a million dollars to get 500.000 of these coins at face. They would not have been able/equipped to deal with the demand for these coins and are just dumping them off to privileged individuals and turn the whole concept of this "Gift" from the government into a personal gain for them. It was a kind gesture by the government but ill conceived. I would rather turn my computer off than buy a single coin off these "Scalpers"

Most RSL's have sold out of these coins at $10 each, I think you will find that most sellers have paid the full donation to the RSL and are now simply working on the supply and demand principle to make a few dollars. Sellers of the rolls do possibly come under a different category. I spoke to the girls at my RSL today and they informed me they received a roll of the coins ,a supply of bags and cards and no info whatsoever as to what to do with them. They sold their allocation in the first week.
