I found these two coins while I was goiing through some canadian roll my knowledge with american coins is not that great could you guys please help me.
1987 Is missing the L of liberty
1984 Has a wierd piece of metal over America

to CCF. Neither coin is an error.The 87 is called Die Deterioration,aka worn out die. The other one looks like post mint damage. Stick around this is a great forum.

Is it possible that the L in LIBERTY is grease filled? that would have been my best guess.

Thanks guys. Wow I cant believe even tho a letter is missing its not considered some kind of error. Also forgot to mention the 1987 coin seems like it has a uneven surface some areas seem thicker then others

The "uneven surface" is common on 80s Zincolns.
