Hello everyone, happy holidays. I was just wondering if anyone knew where I could find info on the us mints plans for the future of the quarter. when they get done with the ATB do you think they will give it a new reverse or go back to the old eagle with its wings spread? I really like the old quarter reverse so I wouldnt mind if it went back but id give a new design a chance if they decided to go that route.

I have read somewhere Gen Washington crossing the Delaware will be the next reverse when ATBs are done.

I quit collecting quarters after the statehood & territories. I feel the mint ruined a good thing by over exploiting the use of multiple designs within the same year.

Actually I think that someone on this forum said that after the currect run of the ATB Quarters there will be a second series that should bring us through well past when I be concerned about them. The current series is through 2021 and a second series would stretch from then to 2034. After that, the Washington crossing the Delaware series will start running unless something happens to those plans. The chicken has been plucked and skewered and will not be back. Jbuck will miss that bird. This posting represent my triple nickel.

i see. thanks everyone for the info. I kind of wish they would stop changing the design every year and stick with something for a while but thats just my opinion:).

I agree, I like a lot of the designs, but it has been a little overkill. After the ATBs, I kinda hope they keep a single design for awhile.

I am not sure anything past the current set of quarters through 2021 has been set in stone yet.

I should have added that by the time that 2034 is completed I'll probably be more than senile, addled, or just plain simple minded. Today's young forum member may very well have grandchildren asking them what it was like in the old days. I won't have an answer for them because I'll be enjoying my cream of wheat to much to care one way or the other. My kids will have my nursing home all picked out for me. I only hope that I can be a nuisuanse to them as they were a pain to me.

I'd like a single design, too. The changing coins began when I was eleven--there hasn't been a stable design for more than half my life. This is really getting ridiculous.

It's way too early to figure out what the mint has in store after the ATB designs are completed. Since the mint wants to make money..... and as much as they can...... no doubt they'll create yet another commemorative series in an attempt to keep collectors busy and broke. I for one was unhappy the mint started with this ATB series after 11 years of State / Terrority quarters. It's overkill. It would have been nice if they would return to the eagle-reverse coin pre 1999 and leave it at that. Better yet, if they would return to the P & D eagle reverse Washington quarter along with the ATB it would give collectors the option to just collect the eagle reverse and if they wanted to all these ATB's they could dive into them. They do this in Canada..... mint a Caribou along with the loads of Canadian commemoratives. You can decide if you want to stick with just the caribou quarters and not bother with the extras. I'll be old and doddering when the ATB series is complete. By then I won't care what they do. But it's all about making money....... money makes the world go 'round...

I absolutely love the atbs but I do wish they would've put it on a bigger coin, at least half dollar size.

Jbuck will miss that bird. Proud to say that my 1932-1998 Washington quarter Collection is complete, super chicken and all.
