That is just a die crack. I don't collect them and I don't think they are worth anything more than face value. Some people save them. To me it is just the normal wear and tear of the life of a die.

In the Morgan dollar series such die breaks are collectible. What you are showing is a radial break... not common, but not rare either.

I actually have 2 pennies like that, I will have to go back through them and post the pics, and they go all the way up through the I just like yours.

I see the die crack on the reverse but what's up with the raised area along the rim under his shoulder area. Part of it covers some of the VDB also.

That is a normal place for a die crack. I have seen them where they are on both top corners of the memorial. They also happen on the bottom corners as well.
