The only thing other than a Bahaman penny I've found in 60 rolls. I still think it might be PMD.

Smart man bobsbillions...That is the sign of a coin collector, keeping it I mean...There are too many people out there that would try and sell it right away to get MONEY...They are not coin collectors...Collector means acquiring and holding on to some thing...Good attitude bobsbillions

This is a larger clip than one usually finds in change. Through my limited roll searching I found a clip, usually one smaller than this, in about every 2000 to 3000 coins. It's a nice example with a very insignificant blakesley effect, but is still identifiable as a genuine clip due to the metal flow around the clip itself.

Erroneous term usage there. " PMD" stands for "post-mint-damage". If the clip on your coin was not real (which it is), it would be termed a post-mint alteration, since something like this would have been made deliberately to deceive. Damage is just that - damage. When a coin is MADE to look like an error, that's an alteration.

Goes along the same lines as a mintmark added to a 1909 cent. That's not "damage" - that's an alteration.

Which again is different from "counterfeit" - the difference between alteration and counterfeit is that in an alteration the beginning piece is a real coin. Counterfeits are altogether fake to start with. Technically, alterations are not illegal. Counterfeits are.

so one needs to know if the damage was intentionally placed to fool people into thinking it was from the mint?
