Depends on what you already have. If you want a nice, visible key(or semi key? I think key) date for Lincolns, get a nice 11-S or 1909 V.D.B. If you want straight out silver, go to the shop and look for bins that are quarters, dimes, half-dollars, or war-nickles. Also maybe a ASE. You might find some nice mercs, roosies, okay barbers and okay SLQs! Yes I know it's for silver value - but hey. Those are silver, and are cool coins. Depends of favorite series. Try to get one you are missing or upgrade something.

I collect half dollars so I would recommend a graded proof cameo Franklin 1956-1963, there are many later dates available and are just beautiful.

What-To-Spend-$70-On

Second I would get a nice mint state Walking Liberty half 1941-1947 another highly attractive type coin.

I suggest buying a nice high-grade ancient. Always an excellent conversation piece, and you can get some beautiful coins for $70! There is nothing like holding something almost two thousand years old. Just think of the stories those coins could tell!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I might go with some mercs so that I can fill in more spots in my collection.

BenByfield - I don't think my LCS has many ancients. Also, I don't have the slightest idea about ancients or how to clean them. Could you give me some hints or tips in a message?

I just wanted a collection of ideas to go off from. ASE's seem to have a high premium and I am only 15 without a job, so money comes little by little. This means I have to pick carefully what I want, and something that has a higher premium wouldn't really help. I am going to eventually get some ASE's next year when I get a job.
