I don't know if you can call it a rip off Smallcentguy...he didn't say it was RARE, or ONE OF A KIND, he just implied he had 2 coins with the center missing, if anyone wants to buy these for $25,00 each, then more power to them...

Not just one, but two eh? And "Missing core" in quotation marks too, like air quotes. Could this dealer scream "Beware"! any louder? I'll be honest, I don't actually know if these are fake or not, but he's sure sending up the red flags...

He is only selling this as a 1983 plated penny, no idea what it is plated with.

It's not a scam because he's selling it as what it is: a toonie with no core. He didn't say it was minted that way.

If you think that is 'selling coins honestly', then don't ever go shopping for a used car... The coin is damaged/defaced, and the seller knows it. I hold those ebay sellers in the same regard as those travelling silver & gold buyers. They want your money, for nothing in return. Pass judgement in any politically correct way you want, but I support smallcentguy in his original post. How would you feel if a novice collector bought this item? Or what if your mom spent $25 on this, thinking she was buying you something special? Sellers like these are detrimental to our hobby.

The coin is SILVER in color and it's PLATED.... So I am not wrong calling it silver plated. He knows it's not natural... End of story.

If it's missing the core, is it only worth $1.00?
