Here's an above-average piece found in the generic Walker bin. Other than some faint (removable) tape residue on the obverse it seems problem-free and worth over "junk silver" value. Opinions?

I think it has enough meat to be a VF20 and that is at the grade level where this coin is worth significantly more than bullion. Nice piece.

So, I'm not too familiar with grading these so I reached over and grabbed my RedBook since Photograde was in another room. Having said that, either grading has become a little lax lately, or the newer Redbooks have become strict. To get F-12 "All skirt lines must be evident". VF20 states "Skirt lines sharp and little wear on breast and right arm".

Going by this alone IMO, based solely on the RedBook right now, you have a F12 coin at best. I'll grab my copy of photograde in a bit to see what it states.

WLHs struck before 1921 do not have the same obverse details as those struck after 1921. The Red Book might not be the best source for that information, but something like the Official ANA Grading Standards will likely note that in the descriptions.

I have seen graded examples with about the same detail. Either way this is a great buy for melt. I would have no trouble selling this for a quick flip of $25. Or take a chance on a BIN at $50. Believe it or not there is a strong market for coins in this grade. Not everyone can afford even an XF set; and try to have matched short sets within the series. Great Buy!

Went for $34 on ebay, decent flip for me and the buyer was very pleased. Win-win!

F15. I would have given you $30 easy, that's exactly the type of coin I'm looking for in my early-date set.

Compare it to my current '20-S, haha.
