Thanks, ninamason. I appreciate the sentiment and advice. I live in an area where there are dozens of pawn shops (and not like Pawn Stars, of course) so it's hard to frequent them all, but I shall try.

It would kill me to know that a guitar I've played for 20 years (not particularly valuable - yet still my favorite) is being sold to another owner, but that's very likely what happened. Well, I'll just imagine that it got purchased by someone who wants and will play a nice guitar with silky action and a big, mellow sound. Takes a guitar a few years to come into its own, right?

Financially I'm upset about the Larrivee bubinga dreadnaught that I had bought myself for my bday. Bleah. Oh well. Life happens, right?

Dog-wise, I'll take the Rott into consideration. I frequent a beer joint that caters to folks with canine companions and I see quite a number of Rotts there. One has to be about 140 pounds and looks like a barrel with legs and a head. And is the nicest carbon-based life form in the place. Great suggestion.
