Hello all,

I have added this half dollar to my US collection.
I am not so good with grading, so I will leave that to you all. I bought it for 13$.

Was this a good price for this coin in this condition?

Very good deal I would say.

looks to be a G-6, problem free and full rims. Maybe a $18-20 dollar coin.

I agree with RK55 on the Good-6 grade. You did get it for a fair price.

WL's can be had for $12-$14 in that grade commonly, excluding the keys of course, but some of the earlier dates (sub 29s) can bring in a few more dollars, always great to add a walker

I'd call this one a problem free G4.
As far as value.. Maybe 15$, you did fine.

Good-6 seems fair, but there are some scratches around In God We Trust which detract. Value is based on silver content in this grade so a few scratches are no big deal.

In case you weren't aware, this is the variety with mintmark on the reverse. The other variety has the S on the obverse, under TRUST. Even in low grade that coin should carry a premium over this more common type. Here's an example in AG that I currently have running on ebay in a 4-coin lot (hint, hint!):

Eg... that might be your next step: going for an obverse mintmark 1917 Walker. If you are starting a Walker collection, that's a nice two-some to start off the folder or album!
