My First Half Dollar Box

I bought two boxes of dimes and realized I made a grave mistake. My eyes are horrible. I went through a few dollars worth and then tried to judge the silver by eye. I said the heck with it and returned the rest of them with out even looking.

I then bought the rest of my banks half dollars (340 worth)and pulled out 5 more silver half dollars all between the years 1966 and 1969! I just ordered two more boxes of half dollars!

So I have a total of 11 pieces out of under two boxes of halves so far. This is great. Lets see what happens next!

dmb get yourself a 10x loupe I use one of these on dimes I scan down a roll of clear wraps in seconds or a cwr roll almost as quick A loupe is a necessity with dimes

I did the same with the dimes, however when I broke a few rolls I searched them and I found some errors, so if you are just going for silver, the loupe is great. also if you have microscope you can focus to the top of the dimes and just scan that way.

OK my next run was a local convenience store. 40 dollars in coin yielded one silver 1942 dime from 20 dollars in dimes and twenty dollars in nickels. Also did 5 dollars worth of pennies for some copper.

Then I did box of dimes and nickels from the same bank and was skunked outside of 1 War Nickel.

I also bought 150 dollars in random coin in what she said was customer wrapped rolls but they were rolled at the ends by some machine. Skunked on those.

I get 2 boxes of halves in tomorrow! I am hooked!
