The reverse of my 1884-cc has a lot of doubling which I tried to capture in the photos. The left C is doubled, as are the left wings, the eagle's head, and In God We Trust. I didn't see any doubling on the obverse. What would this coin qualify as in terms of a VAM? Are doubled dies like this common with Morgan's or is this rare?

Almost all 1884-CC VAMs are defined by some obverse feature associated with the date, so we'd want to look at one of your nice detail images allowing the determining of date position and other pickups.

With that said, I like VAM-5 for this one based on the mint mark doubling. Now all we have to do is determine if it's a Far Date.

I would appreciate some opinions on the grade. It is ungraded and I was able to lower the price some because of the distracting bag marks on the obverse. I paid AU money for it.

Does the obverse confirm a VAM-5?

In my mind, it does. Have a look at the 1 in your date, compared to the images here:

I believe I see the telltale marks around the 1 on your coin, which would make it absolutely certain.

Thanks for the grade opinions! I do see the marks on the 1 that you mentioned so I guess that confirms VAM-5!

This coin is definitely a Ms 62, I own this exact date and mintmark. NGC graded mine 63 and it has less bag marks on the cheek and fields.

I would agree on the VAM-5 as well as a MS-62 for grade, too many distracting bag marks on the face to pull a 63 IMHO.
For AU $ definitely a great score! gotta love CC coins!!
