Poll Question
I have searched MAAAAANY halves and I have about 2,000 MS64 half dollars of all years and mintmarks. Is there anywhere I can sell them for a gain? Or just toss them back?

Here is the quality of about half of the coins I have. They seem too pretty to throw back.

Put them into a folder and perhaps you can sell them for a premium that way. Or you could just do a set in 2x2s.

Wrestling. Do some research on selling them as a set. I'd imagine that's about the only way to make it worth your time to try and sell. If you have a bunch of extra for a particular year and mint mark, maybe sell by the roll. The premium on non slabbed MS clad halves will be minimal but if you sell them in bunches, it might be worth it. All that said, I only keep the best example of each yr/mm.

I agree with Owassokie. Especially if you were able to pick up most of these coins roll searching. You could fill albums and sell them on ebay.

Okay, so a completed album would sell for best? I'll do that. Anyone know where a good price/location to buy albums would be? :D

Google Shopping, Amazon, and ebay would be my primary stops. (yes, I know google shopping includes the other two but a separate search often turns up better results). As for which album, that's hard to say. Probably the cheapest possible, because your target audience will be people new to coins or some parent trying to buy a coin set for a kid who's interested in coins. If you want to target collectors, you'd probably need to pony up for a Dansco album or something nice. I would probably target used albums on ebay because there cheaper and that's what you'll have as soon as you put one coin in the album...a used album. OO

Btw, Wrestling, I'm not trying to take this thread off topic but I'm curious if you ever changed banks for half dollars? If not, what's the word these days? I'm hoping your luck changed regardless.

Put them up as rolls and or runs. I would (and do) sell the rolls at 19.95. Any runs you can put together, do 1.49 a coin or so. You can get a Whitman folder set or two and do a "starter set". The entire run is divided into 3 folders. Put 6-8 coins in each folder and sell like that. Those are my ideas for ya.

Wow, both great points. Smoker, I didn't think about that, that's a great idea! Runs would be easiest since I wouldn't need to go buy albums.

Yeah, I'd rather the $500 now than wait for 50 years :)

I would be happy to buy some of the coins I'm missing for $1.49 each if they look like that 92P. Why do you only go up to 2001?

Quote: Why do you only go up to 2001? 2001 is the last year that the Kennedy half dollar was minted in circulation quantities (supposedly, the 2001-P were never released to circulation).

I didn't know the 2001P was a NIFC. I'll keep a closer eye on those rather than throwing some back. Thanks guys!
