I'm in Real Estate, & get a lot of auction notices for foreclosed property. I got a notice today from one of my regular companies, but it was for an estate auction that will have, among other things, 30,000 coins. No way am I going to Texas for a coin auction, but I had to look at the pictures. Turns out they are also taking bids online through a company called Proxibid. There is a 15% buyers premium, & they were really vague about shipping/handling charges, but they had some pretty nice looking Bust Halves. Has anyone ever dealt with, or heard anything about, Proxibid?

No, I have never heard of it, but since I am in Texas (Houston area)I would be interested in learning more about the auction. If it is anywhere close by I can go check it out personally and report back on the situation in case anyone is interested in the auction. I may be myself but would want to know that all is well before bidding on anything like that.

It looks like proxibid.com is an internet company that runs online auctions for various brick & mortar companies. This particular auction is scheduled for Thursday, April 26 in Lubbock, Tx. The brick & mortar company in this case is Great American Auction Group @ greatamericanauctiongroup.com. If you find anything out please let me know.

Lubbock is too far away, if it was within a 100 miles I would go there personally and check it out. Sounds like it might be a bankruptcy liquidation of all assets since there is business and personal stuff...I bet the coins are/were his personal property. Maybe somebody closer can check on it.
