Some nice toning, but personally I prefer the full red ones.

Awesome toning. Love them all. Is there date doubling on any of the cents, cause a few of them sure looked like it may be?

Enwarb, anything in copper in the US and Canada are called cents or large cents. Our Brit counterparts can understand because they were of similar size before "New Pence"

Quote: Walter,Would these ones make RD. I would wait for Walters expert opinion. To me however they would make "Red" in a heartbeat

I reckon they would get a RD as well.

trout1105, While it is true that officially we have the "cent" most people still use the term "penny" in speaking. Commonly heard: "I save my pennies in a jar." "I used to collect pennies when I was younger. In writing, most small stores have a tray for "cents" on the counter: But the sign says, "Take a penny, leave a penny." Bottom line: When the dollar was adopted as the standard, the US switched from the British system to a decimal system and thus the word "cent," meaning 1/100, replaced the "penny."

Lovely coins- isn't it cool that something almost 50 years old looks like it was 'born' yesterday.

I really miss the copper coins. They look so stunning when mint red. Even the 2c was a spectacular coin.
