Was there a reason to submit the cents since they are going to be cracked out immediately? Sometimes there is a minimum number of coins needed or perhaps there were questions of authenticity.

I always have my key coins graded to make 100% sure they are authentic. If they are bound for a Dansco, they get broke out and placed in. I then take the labels and tape them into the book on the inside of the cover. So when I get the 22 no D and the 09 S VDB, there will be two more labels in the front of the album.

I am of the opinion that ANACS belabored you about the head with a blunt instrument on that Morgan.

Am I to take that to mean you feel they undergraded the girl a bit there?

Quote: I am of the opinion that ANACS belabored you about the head with a blunt instrument on that Morgan. Really? I know you know more about Morgans than I, but MS-63 looks alright to me. I could maybe go 64 on it, but that coin does not deserve 65 or higher. In any event, I think the OP got lucky on 14-D Lincoln. That coin is rough. It has more problems with it than just corrosion and I see AG-3 details anyways. That level of corrosion is likely to continue to get worse, unless kept in absolute perfect conditions, so I'm surprised they even slabbed it.

I was laying it on a tad thick for the humor value, but I'd call that one a pretty happy 64. There's not much going on in the fields, and knowing a bit about photography I'm thinking what you see as the darker marks on the cheek are far less prominent in hand. And there's very little price increase between the two grades, so no reason to be conservative for that.

I felt it should have gone a 64 as well. You are right about the marks on the cheek. They stand out far more in that pic than in hand even under bright fluorescent or sun light. As you said, there is not a huge difference in value from 63 to 64, so I was not terribly put out about it. Had they gone lower I would have had a fit. LOL
Yeah, the 14 is rough, but I think it skims in on a G04. No reason not to slab it. It is genuine and gradable. As for the verdigris, when I find my bottle of verdi care, I am going to have at it with a q tip.
