Hello, can anyone tell me about this coin I acquired and what causes it to look like this. Its a 1954 S Wheat penny, but there are like three edges on the reverse. The front looks like some coin material from another coin was struck and had been forced to wrap around it. This penny is actually almost the exact size of a quarter. Its the inner ring on the reverse that is the diameter of a regular penny.

Could this coin be valuable?

Hazarding a guess:

Take Normal cent, lay on top of copper washer heads down, apply extremely high (sudden not required) force to the two as they sit.

to CCF. I don't think it came from the mint that way. Looks like some kind of PMD (post mint damage)so not an error.

As others said it is not an error coin. My guess is it was removed fron a piece of jewelry. Regardless of what happened to it, it is now a damaged coin.

Dryer Coin is my guess.. probably was stuck in the machine for quite some time.

Although, seeing the reverse.. copper washer makes sense too

You have a genuine 1954-S cent but it has had a copper bezel/jacket/whatever added to the outer edge of it. You can confirm this by weighing the coin, I am guessing that the weight will be about double that of a normal cent. Of course, who ever added it also did considerable damage to the coin as well

This is not a Error coin. If it was then the outer would not be a perfect circle and the wheatie would not look like that. So there would have to be 2 or 3 of them together.
