These are my first finds that have intrigued me recently identifying what exactly they are! When I was back in school earning money for skiing holidays etc I done alot of gardening jobs and came across this! i believe its a james 1st 1610. Not too sure on how rare it is or value really, it between 20-25mm in diameter.

I suspect the Jeton you can't identify is a Henry III Counter struck at Nuremberg. Legends AETERNA CONCORDIA HERCULES

Thankyou that is correct! struggling to determine age tho only other way I can think of doing it is by looking at when they were alive henry 3rd of britian in 1200's and henry 3rd of france in 1500's... Any ideas?
Thanks for the link, that I the right one! dont understand the pricing bit tho as dont know about the codes such as vg8 and f12
Thought only the gold one was worth anything, thought i'd post them as I find them interesting having found them in my own back garden! Deffinatley intereted in metal detecting now! So much local history to uncover!

Very nice finds! The codes vg8 and f12 are condition grades. vg8 is 'very good 8' and f12 is 'fine 12'. The scale goes up to 70 and that would be for a perfect coin. Just look up 'coin grading' and you'll find plenty.

Alex here's a link to your Jeton Henry iii France 1574-1589 http://www.saivenumismatique.com/ar...rticle=15497Post some detailed pictures of the gold crown along with weight and dimensions on the UK coin forum asking nicely for a grade and value and I am sure the experts will oblige.

Wow, I wish I lived in a place as full of history as the UK! Where I live, (Nebraska, USA), the oldest coins I'd probably find would be 19th century pieces from settlers moving west or something. Really loving the gold coin
