What power of magnifier do you use? With or without a light source?

I currently use a 5x but I haven't found a DDO or DDR coins yet.

Why worry about it. Go out and buy a 2X, 3X, 5X, etc. all the way up to about 300X. Then you can be the one answering this question the next time it comes up. I use a 5X and if it takes more than that, I'll just pass.

I use an Optisight Visor with a 7x lens. If they made a 10x or higher I'd definitely buy and use it. It may have something to do with the fact that it is binocular and there are focal length limitations.

Thanks for the article link, Fuzzy.

I use a 14x doublet with a light source "not built in the loupe".
