Just ran into this and had to have a laugh. Seems someone started a rumor that old Pakistani 1 Rupee coins had uranium inthem and were being sold over in Iran. Apparently this sparked some sort of "gold rush" looking for old 1 Rupee coins. Read the article, I can't convey the craziness here.
FYI 1 Pakistani Rupee = US$0.01

The best part of that article is at the bottom where in the comments people are buying and selling their rupees.

Yeah I was happy for the guy who got a new motorbike too. This whole story has me laughing. A bunch of drug adicts and beggars got everyone all crazy about coins. Says something....

The story is highly suspect! This is the second time this has happened in Pakistan..... The first time the story was the metal in the 1 Rupee was worth more than face value and the coin was being sold to scrap merchants.
