I think it would be AU 58 very faint traces of friction (IMO) but lots of die cracks really a nice piece.

oh wow those die cracks are incredible what a coin i'd get some looks over at heritage or stacks at some choice AU to MS60 archives and see what has sold the price jump between 58 and 60 is pretty significant are you going to send it for a slab?

I think it is unlikely that it will grade MS. The pictures seem to show the bust and fields with lots of friction. It probably grades somewhere in the AU range(gut feeling is the lower end) but the glare is making it hard for me to get a read on the luster. Some very neat die cracks!

I will post photos that show the luster later today. I will also send photos to heritage. Most likely I will end up sending it in.

VERY nice Capped Bust Half! Terrific detail and nice die cracks! I see an AU-58 for this beauty! (Due to general chatter in the fields, slight wing/eagle head wear on the reverse and small obverse rim dings).

I would like to see this beauty in it's entirety with less harsh lighting. I love the Die Cracks!

The rim nicks (which are apparent on photo 2) would certainly knock this one down to AU50-53 at best. And I'm questioning the luster, the fields appear flat, especially on the reverse. It's just my opinion.

I think it's AU with a good chance of going into a details holder. It looks like a $500-$800 coin.

Quote: I think it's AU with a good chance of going into a details holder. It looks like a $500-$800 coin. Unfortunately I have to agree. AU Details. It looks cloudy in spots in the fields which could indicate that it has been whizzed in the past or at the very least harshy cleaned. Still a nice highly detailed example that would go well in a type set.

I have no reason to believe this has been cleaned, but I can see how the photos can be misleading.
