He has a lot of neg feedback, but he also has way more positive feedback. He seemed to try and make an effort to rectify the neg feedback. I have bought problem free stuff from guys with worse. Good Luck , hope it is a great buy for you.

I never buy anything that ships from mainland china. I used to say never buy anything made in china. Those days are gone.

I honestly didn't even notice it was from a China seller. I did see the terrible feedback, but all the positive feedback made me trust the seller. If it doesn't work out, I'll be sure to get my money back.

I bought the updated version of this one last week from Buy.com for $35. I just sent it back The software didn't work well. I tried it on both a Mac and a PC. The Mac version didn't work at all. This is the one I bought: http://www.buy.com/pr/product.aspx?sku=221631959I also couldn't get it to take a picture of the whole coin...it wouldn't zoom out (which I think was a software problem). I was very hopeful it would work for me but I was unhappy with it. Hopefully you'll have a better experience. I am open to suggestions if anyone has a good cheap option for a USB microphone. Thanks. Quote: If it doesn't work out, I'll be sure to get my money back. Nope, you probably won't. Seller may give your money back, if you ship the item back to them. But it will cost your more than the item is worth to ship it back, and unless you send it with decent tracking it will likely go into a black hole somewhere and you can never prove receipt. Shipping from China to US is "free" because China is subsidizing all outgoing shipments in order to prop up the export market. Shipping from the US to China, however, is not free. The only recourse you will have is negative feedback...

Hi Gary, Unfortunately, that didn't work. It was strange. It didn't matter where I put it, it always seemed to be the same size. It was just too much effort to make it work right. I think the one I liked to on Buy.com is an updated version of the one on Amazon. It is up to 400x. Thanks for the comments. Dave

I'm on my 4th USB Scope now, and have found them very good for images of coins, irrespective of the size of the coin. You really have to think outside the square, and the first thing is to get rid of the tiny little stand (that's what is limiting you with getting the whole coin in the image) and the cradle that joins the barrel to the stand, then I am sure the whole world of imaging coins will open up for you. Have a look at this thread re USB Scopes. https://goccf.com/t/111156&whichpage=2Page 2, 2nd reply is the main one, but other relevant info also on Page 1. Basically, turn it into a hand held, or buy a proper stand for it. Use your imagination and you may be quite surprised with the end result. BTW, I have worn out 2 x Kaiser Baas and have had them replaced at no charge, so that's really not a brand I recommend now. I also have a Digitech QC3247 which is way too powerful and as a consequence, a bit too touchy to control by hand. I may be being a bit hard on the Kaiser Baas, originally my son connected it directly to the PC Monitor, but with my 3rd one, he decided to plug it in on the front of the tower, and so far, so good. PM me if you'd like any further info, happy to be able to help.

Some USB microscopes can focus to infinity, making an operation like garyo's possible. Others won't.
And (understanding I'm no fan of these types of scopes at all), a large zoom range - like camera lenses - involves a great deal of compromise. End quality is one of the compromises.

Sorry to head that Kurry. Could have been damaged in shipping? Here's a pic of an IH I dug metal detecting. Camera is sitting about 3 1/2 inches about the work table on a slab of 3/4" plywood, two Redbooks, and a couple of tiles. Thinking of building a permanent mount for it to keep the stacking down. LOL Apologies Dave for getting you mixed up.

That would have been great if I could have gotten a shot like that!

I built a mount for my USB mircoscope. It was okay, but recently bought an actual stand for it. This is the one I got, but I am sure there are others. The USB microscope just clamps in. This one is much more portable than what I built. http://www.lighthouse.us/epages/lig...roducts/DMST
