Another beauty. An 1887P Morgan. I've been through the VAM's and can't find a match. It's still a nice coin. Eye appeal. I'm leaning towards MS64. Any other opinions?

Nice coin but think you are looking at a 63 top, the scratch at the mouth and the others near the jaw are too deep and too much action in e reverse fields

I have to lean 63 myself. At the price you mentioned, though, pretty darn well-bought.

Let's tentatively call it VAM-26, Slanted Date. Not positive, though, as the tilt of the images doesn't let me fix the date location accurately.

I'll throw in an MS63. It certainly looks like a slanted date as SsuperDdave posted except I think maybe VAM8. Nice Morgan!

Thanks for all the opinions. I'll try and get a pic of the date. My laptops hard drive is going and I don't have a way to upload images to the iPad. I navigate this thing like a drunk on a straight line at a sobriety check point.

I'll have to go back and check the VAM's (again). I believe my date was considered a far date.

Kman,

Maybe you didn't drink enough? The price was discussed with SsuperDdave in a top secret email. I paid 80 dollars for 2 Morgan's. This one and the 1888o I posted in another thread. Another nice VAM.

After further review (sounds like a referee on Monday night) I'm going to conclude a VAM8. The VAM26 has a closer date. I believe my coin has the far date.

Not quite far enough for VAM-19 nor near enough for 26, so let's call it VAM-8.
