A guy local to me has this for sale wonder if I should buy it and try to flip it and make a little money. He is asking $300 obo

Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago 20.00 series of 1929
Two 5.00 red note one is series of 1963 and second is series of 1928 A
One 5.00 silver certificate series 1953 A
Five 2.00 red notes following series 1963,1963,1953,1953B,1953C
Five 2.00 bills
Three 1.00 silver certificate star notes following series 1957,1957A,1957B
Thirty-One Silver certificates multiple series
One 5.00 silver certificate rated by Gallery Coin Company (G.C.C) rated XF-30.Bill is series 1934 A

Hi yogurt,

Given the info that you provided and the pictures. I tried to place a very rough estimate of what the entire lot is worth if sold at auction individually for each note.
With the help of my Red Book and personal experience, I added together an estimate of each note and came up with $298 for the entire lot.
So the offer of $300 is fair if you were to keep the entire lot, Although the margin for profit is small even if you did sell each note individually.

Yes I agree with the above post by woodford but that national price can be wild it could be anywhere from $50-75 for that one depending on the condition and on the person you sell it to. Other than that I see it as a great price.

Based on what I see and the information provided, I think the lot is probably worth around $200 give or take.

I think if you paid 50% over face value you would probably only break even.

Lots of really common stuff that might be difficult to flip. I agree with nationals the asking price for this lot is way too high.
