Hi everyone,

So I know that some 1968 dimes are silver and to check you try a magnet on them, but I'm wondering if anything could happen to a dime that would cause it to lose its magnetic properties. I found one today that isn't magnetic, but it's almost completely dark brown from what looks like either tarnish or burning. Could it be possible that this is just a plain nickel version that got really dirty and can't be picked up by a magnet?
