Thanks for the responses. I didn't think it was a mm variety-nothing on coppercoins. Could be an interestingly placed die chip.

I also think its a die chip because above it to the left it looks like another small die chip?

I think it is the beginning of a die crack, much like this one, which happens to be on a 1952-D as well.
