Is This 1873 Nickel 3 Cent An Open Or Closed 3 ?

qktbird Valued Member United States 152 Posts	Posted 02/01/2013 01:26 am Hello, I keep looking at this coin and the pic I took with my digital microscope and I cant seen to figure out for sure if it's an open 3 or closed 3 variety. I think it's the closed 3 but I wanted to get a second opinion and see what you all think. I've downloaded comparison pics of both varieties but I'm still having trouble figuring out which one I have so let me know what you all think. Report this Post to the Staff

Looks like I was right on it being a closed 3 but the pictures from Moe really helped make it clear. I'm going to have to download them so I have something to use in the future.
