I ordered some coins from Alaska Coin Exchange last week & they got here today. I heard about them here on the forum. Nothing too fancy but will fill 8 more holes in my Dansco 7070. I'll take pictures before I put them in the album & will post on the grading forum.

It's always exciting to get coins in the mail, even if they aren't too fancy as you say. Looking forward to seeing your pictures!

Hi,
Does anyone know the laws on mailing coins?
I need to send some coins to the United states to be graded, is it legal or Illegal?
And do I need any special documents?
Rest in Peace

Hankash, a warm welcome to the forum! There's a lot of experience and expertise here with people willing to share it.

I don't know anything about postal regulations in Yemen, but if it is permitted to send coins out of country to the US and to receive them back, then once they arrive into the US postal system, there will be no problems, legal or otherwise arriving at the grading service. Ensure the coins are well-packaged and if at all possible, insured with some sort of tracking procedure in the event the coins are lost along the way. Any documents to be filled out would be provided by the Yemen postal service and probably would consist of statements of contents and value of the package.

That said, there are prohibitions of imports into the US of certain non-US antique coins. I'll let someone else go into detail on this.

Welcome Hankash

A lot of countries have import tax and import limitations on whatever comes from other countries

You may want to look into import tax when your coins return from the US because that could be a surprise as big as 20 to 30 % of what tax people themselves estimate as the cost of the coins .

Technically speaking you may have to convince people you are not exporting and you are not importing but simply shipping them over and getting them back
