I purchased two 2012 silver proof ATB Quarters, an Acadia and Chaco from a seller on ebay. The coins just came. The problem is, in my experience, silver proofs shoul not be showing clad along their reeds, but hey what do I know. Am I wrong or did I get scammed, again, on ebay? I have a silver proof 2010 yellowstone that I looked at to see differences an the yellowstone is pure silver along the reeds whereas these are not. The seller has great feedback rating so I cant help but second guess myself, even though I'm certain their clad proofs anyway.

You *will not* see a clad layer on silver coins. So, if you're sure you have clad coins, it's time to contact the seller and get things fixed. Stuff happens sometimes, and you have to approach it as an honest mistake. At least, to start with.

Sounds like they either shipped the wrong item or tried to rip you off. If you haven't already, contact the seller and tell them what happened. Hopefully it was just a mistake on their part.

@mindsets, I thought you said you bought "two" quarters. So never mind that screenshot, lol.

jokingjoker is right. He made a mistake or tried to pull a scam.

silver proof clad
It is either silver proof, or clad proof. There are no silver clad proof ATB Quarters.

For the record, the 40% silver coins of days gone are indeed "silver clad."

At this point I would assume the best. Contact the seller and just explain what happened. Keep it as professional as possible - no accusations, etc. Maybe it was an honest mistake. You can hope, right?

That said, I recently ran into a situation where a seller with 465 positive feedback and 100% rating was a nightmare on a return on an item that had a 14 day return. Had to go through a long process with ebay to get a refund. So, just the fact that he has great feedback may not mean he is a quality seller. Still, I think you will get best results starting out nice as pie.

*non-coin related!*

I bought a screen for my video game from a guy with tons of feedback... turns out he sold me junk. Had to return it for a different one. The next one was just like the same one but a little better. I still left him positive because in the end everything worked out.

This part is about coins now, lol
Right now I just bought like 8 coins on ebay and like 5 from people on a website and 2 are from a guy over email. So I kind of worried about running into problems!

Hopefully he'll respond to me by the end of the day, thats all I can wait. What if I was a mother buying these for her son for his birthday. She would have no idea wht a clad proof is. Could have been an honest mistake seeing how he has an Acadia and Chaco clad for sale as well, maybe mixing them up. That cant be easy to do though.

The last three of my transactions on ebay have ended up in the resolution center. Just crazy how difficult it is to ship something correctly

That must be excruciating. In almost 14 years on ebay, I've had zero problems, either selling or buying. I couldn't imagine three in a row.

This actually isn't the first time someone has sent me a clad proof instead of the silver proof I purchased on ebay either. About a year ago I bought wht was listed as a silver proof delaware quarter for my dad. When it got here it was in fact a clad proof delaware. The seller accused me of scamming him when I told him if you can believe that! ebay gave me the refund but still, wht the heck.

Also ill post pictures when I figure out how to
