Well...went out today as most banks will not be open on the weekend. At least the banks I pick boxes of Canada Cents up from. I was able to score 22 boxes of cents. Sweeettt!! Now I have two weeks to sort through them. I'm going to miss picking up boxes of cents to search through.

Ahh well. I hope these boxes have some goodies for me to discover.

I will update when I have something to report.

Good luck searching the 22 boxes. Post if you find anything good.

I got 5 boxes of two days. Started to sort through them with generally good results - seemed like more Georges and Wheaties than usual. Also half of box of single-date rolls, not mint rolls though. People are dumping their old collections and hoards.

I've never bought a box but I've managed to pick up about a box worth of rolls over the last week. No luck at all today - the bank had a measly 2 rolls! Going to go to my main bank tomorrow for a last hurrah.

Are you going to hold onto a box for keeps? Sell it on e-bay in 40 years time?

I have been pulling the nice BU coins so I can make up rolls as I go along. I have quite a few set aside that I need to go through and figure out what years they are and make rolls.

I have been doing great on the copper. Averaging close to 50% per box...sometimes more. My bullion guy will be happy.

I guess I will have to switch full time to nickels.

Forgot to mention. I did a quick scan of all the boxes...end up rolls just to see if I could see anything special. Of note: 3 boxes are white Distribution Center rolls that were still sealed boxes. Another box had 11 Mint Rolls of 2011. To bad they were not 2012. I'll still take them. One box seemed heavier then normal and the top would not close. I counted the rolls and someone had crammed 59 rolls into the box. I have a profit of $4.50 and haven't cracked a roll yet.

I know the feeling Whizb4ng. That is why I have to search them by Feb 15th...I have bills to pay on that day so I borrowed the bill money to get the farewell to the cent boxes. When I brought them home...my wife just looked at me funny and smiled. She is not into coins but likes the fact that I have a hobby I love. I think her perspective might change if I was to start buying mint sets instead of gathering my collection at face value. LOL!

OK so now we have 3 of us from the same town getting coins.

Just got 6 more boxes and while standing in line a lady had 2 grocery bags of cents all rolled up, when I got to the teller I said I will take all she just brought in, turned out to be 2 boxes then I added 4 more boxes and she said they till had some left.

So what I said in another post about takeing a year to go through all this is now 1 1/2 years.

samsnate- crappy tire now has the only north end of town Post Office.
