I will forward your question to Mint. Let's see what is their answer.
I hope they keep it the same 10000 or even lower.

I'm hoping they increase thre mintage. Every time the next coin in the series has a higher mintage, more people get it, and this means more people want a complete set and demand for the previous bugs go up!

Snail? Butterfly? Dragonfly? Not sure what other "cute" bugs are out there.

@deal_with_singh, I hope your insight is correct. The secondary price of bumblebee have been slowing declining on ebay sales.

Timeline of a popular coin:
- Mint releases low mintage first of its kind coin - Collectors and hoarders buy it up like crazy causing early sell-out and aftermarket trading - Mint releases second coin in the series with higher mintage - Second coin sells out, but not as fast since there is a higher mintage - First coin sky rockets in price and hoarders jump for joy. Second coin is still popular. - Mint releases third coin, it sells out, but takes a while, hoarders break even. First coin is still strong, but not increasing in value. - Mint releases fourth coin, hoarders stay away from it, only collectors get it to keep their series going. Release does not sell out. - Mint discontinues series due to lack of demand.
I might be cutting it short with only four coins, but this at least breaks down how it goes. People only want what is popular and what they can't have.

Ah, well there is that. But, I think you're letting the hoarders/flippers off without any of the blame. They generated the early shortages that cause the prices to spike. They proliferate in the second generation with a bunch of new people who see $900 Ladybugs dancing in their heads This quickly starts moving toward the idea that something is only successful, if someone other than the mint and collectors are the main beneficiary.

Just look at the Swarovski crystal coins. If they make the mintage to high and put a crystal on every coin it screws up everything. Dealers can't sell the new crystal coins at issue and most are discounting them.

2006 and 2007 were a great years for NCLTs. As we were fighting to get recognition on CCF, the RCM was producing some really interesting coins, but all the while maintaining some level of quality. Delivery times were respectable, mintage numbers were honest. I need to think more about the current situation...

Well the RCM certainly has upped their diversity of coins, I have bee getting SPAMMED like crazy lately even with all the new coins. Maybe the interest is not quite there for the new designs, this week the emails must be 3 or 4 in 10 days. Still waiting on 3 orders from last year, shy would I want more?

The last few sales of the bumblebee coin is around the $243 level. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ASTER-BUMBL...em460c2d1751Actually the price is higher now then when I sold mine for $200.
