I just wanted to share my beauty with everyone. I mainly collect coins from Canada and the USA, but I could not pass up the opportunity to own such a classic historic coin.

According to the history Mr. Cohen was telling me, this coin was a part of the El Camino Reale Horde. It didn't come from a ship, but was rather literally a buried treasure.

sweet coin would it be possible to remove the coin from the holder (looks like the screw type) and take photos of both sides + maybe a pic of it on a scale.

Would like to pull out my Krause 17th Century World Coins Catalog and match it up.

Cobs are just plain fun. I have a Potosi 8R, too, early 1700's.

Here are the pictures requested on a scale. I've never taken the coin out of the case before. So beautiful.

Thanks for posting the weight and photos.
I am currently working on multi-struck error coin CCF threads for both the USA & World Forums.
Currently have over 300 photos to post, and after that I will check into your coin and see if it is listed in Krause.

Raligard : it's a nice cob you have here :)
The picture is a bit dark, on the second one (which you can rotate 90° counter clockwise to have the shield placed properly) - what's written on the left of the shield ? (P Something ?)

I just saved your 3 photos to my laptop so I can try and match them up in my Krause catalog this evening or tomorrow.

I spent 6 hours last night posting 2 mega-threads on multi-struck coins, both USA & World errors, and for those that do not know, all my error coins will go to my granddaughter (who is now 7) for her education, and since she is going to spend the night with her gramps, I am going to have her try and find your coin in the catalog.

Should your coin be listed, I will photo it and post here.

I could only match up the reverse side of your coin, that is a very close match to Boliva KM#10, issued from ND (no date) to 1621.. The obverse side does not match any of the 8 Reales photos. Your coin is also underweight by 1 gram and I would think this would be normal for the time period...

Both my granddaughter and myself like your coin and she had fun trying to match the coin to the photos.
